We want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who shared their proposal story with us! We were blown away by the heartfelt, funny, and truly magical stories you sent in, from mountaintop moments and beachside surprises to cosy at-home confessions of love.
It wasn’t easy to choose a winner, every story brought smiles (and a few happy tears!) to our team. But one proposal really stood out…
Congratulations to Rosie and James our winning proposal story!
Last summer, Rosie and James went on camping trip to Cornwall, which they’ll never forget, not just because the tent nearly blew away! As part of the trip, James had booked a surprise craft workshop, without revealing what they’d be making.
Here’s how the Rosie described it in their own words:
“We turned up to a little house in Camborne, I still didn’t know what we were making. A lovely lady welcomed us into her workshop. She started showing me different styles of rings and asking what stones I’d like. I thought it was such a lovely idea but after 10 years, I thought he’s not going to propose. But, when she started measuring my ring finger I suddenly understood!
We spent the afternoon designing and making each other engagement rings by hand. When they were finished, we had them engraved (out of earshot so we didn’t hear what they said) and then James took me to the lady’s lovely cottage garden where he got down on one knee and proposed! It was such a surprise that I’ll remember all my life.”
We just couldn’t get over the level of thought James put into the proposal, what a beautifully unique way to start the next chapter together, crafting your own rings from scratch and engraving them in secret. A huge congratulations to you both!
