Corporate Social Responsibility
As a family run farm, our local community and environment is very important to us.
Our local community
We're based in sunny Shropshire, and try our best to support local causes and from local football teams, to local charities, whether that's through sponsorship or donations, we always happy to do our bit. It's our bit to put back into the community.
Haven Charity, Wolverhampton
Midlands Air Ambulance
Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. The charity also provides secondary cover to the surrounding areas, such as Warwickshire and mid Wales and is run entirely on donations.
As a farm, we know how crucial a fast response in an emergency in the countryside is. Especially in remote areas, it can make all the difference.
Through various farm walks and events, we alway ask for donations to Midlands Air Ambulance to support what they do. We also have a collection in the office all year round for anyone that pops in and wants to make a donation.
Newport Football Team
We love to support our local community, this year we've sponsored the local Newport Football Team to encourage young people to get active.
St. Marys - Sheriffhales Parish Church
Just down the road from the farm is the beautiful church of St Mary's which has always been the Bubb family church, with generations of the family attending services. Last year we donated to the church to enable railings to be put up on the church steps, aiding accessibility.
Sheriffhales Primary School
We recognise the importance of taking care of the next generation. Last year we made a donation for the spring ball at Sheriffhales Primary School. The money raised will benefit the children's learning and provide equipment for the school.
Newport Young Farmers
It's very important for us to support and encourage the next generation of farmers and agricultural workers and so this year we've sponsored our local Young Farmers club.
Kelda's Row to Raise
We were very excited to sponsor Kelda Wood, a local superstar who is rowed the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Kelda's took on the 3,000 mile challenge with the aim of raising hope in young people facing physical or mental trauma, and to raise awareness about relevant support available. Each day she was on the ocean she was rowing for a different young person, sharing their stories and links to relevant charities and organisations that provide support.
Further afield
The Ukraine Crisis Appeal
In March 2022 the Shropshire Petals farm donated £1,000 to the British Red Cross for their Ukraine Crisis Appeal. It's been heartbreaking seeing families torn apart, people fleeing for their lives and the horrendous atrocities. We hope our donation has helped provide food, water and essentials to help those in need. If you'd like to donate visit British Red Cross - Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Save the Children
The Team can't resist an opportunity to don a tasteful Christmas jumper and it's an added bonus that it is for the Save the Children - Christmas jumper appeal.
Here in the shed we are committed to supporting people and causes that are close to our hearts and will continue to contribute throughout the year.
