With the all-important Queen's Platinum Weekend falling in June 2022, we wanted to mark the momentous occasion by creating a special confetti mix of rich reds, vibrant blues and elegant ivory tones to symbolise the Union Jack.

We have even created some fun Royal Confetti Sachets for those of you planning to host a Jubilee street or garden party! Remember confetti isn't just for weddings, it can be used for any type of celebrations.

What is the Platinum Jubilee?

In February this year Queen Elizabeth became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, we have been given a four-day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June 2022 (thank you Liz!).

Her Majesty The Queen

Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee

In honour of Her Majesties 70 years of service, the four-day celebrations will see public events and community activities taking place, such as:

  • Thursday 2nd June 2022 The Queen's Birthday Parade (Trooping the colour)
  • Saturday 4th June 2022 Platinum Party at the Palace (This will be broadcasted live via the BBC)

Us Brits have a long history of organised street parties; this special occasion has never been a better excuse to pull out all the stops and create some fantastic community spirit. Embrace this 4-day weekend and with the help of your neighbours turn your street into a patriotic wonderland, hanging royal bunting between the houses and serving pimms in mismatched crockery for the eclectic look.

Enjoy eating deluxe sausage rolls, cheese and pickle sandwiches and create a yummy table centrepiece by lining your trestle tables with cakes stands filled with scones and victoria sponge cakes, add our Jubilee Confetti Sachets to finish off the table decorations. Have one sachet per person, get everyone to throw together in celebration so you can capture the unforgettable day with blue and red filled confetti pictures. A moment you can cherish forever.

Our confetti lasts for 12-18 months if stored away from light, heat and moisture, so order now ready for the Jubilee weekend at the start of June!

Confetti Fit for a Queen

Our royal mix is a combination of Icing Sugar Delphiniums, Burgundy Berry and Blue Bird cornflowers and Lady in Red rose petals, which are all natural, biodegradable and eco-friendly. We think Liz would approve?

Working well with many themes, from navy and ivory to burgundy and royal blue. As this mix contains small and large petals, it's got a fantastic mixture of textures and fall rates, giving your wedding photographer lots of time to get those all important confetti photos to celebrate your big day!

Not only will it make for a stunning confetti shot, it will also set a romantic tone scattered down the aisle amongst lanterns filled with pillar candles for atmospheric lighting. We can even envision it sprinkled on crisp white tablecloths paired with navy card stock place names etched in white foil, tall ivory tapered candled and linen navy blue napkins.

How to Display your Royal Confetti

There are so many different ways to share your chosen confetti with your wedding guests. Our individual sachets are perfect for setting on your on guest chairs the morning of the wedding ready for the throw. We pre-fill each glassine sachet in the petal shed (one less job for you to worry about!).

Confetti cones are also a beautiful and practical way to display your wedding confetti too, our navy cones look fabulous with this mix. Not only do cones allow you to add an extra touch of colour, or even personalisation, but each guest gets the same amount of confetti and they won't crush the pretty petals in their hands whilst they are waiting for the big throw.

Alternatively if you've got a lot of guests our silver pail, or confetti basket are perfect for guests to take a handful or for your bridal party to walk around and hand out the confetti, they can also give the guests pointers on how to throw when doing this (not at the face!).

If you're looking for a less traditional way to present your confetti then our confetti pops are certainly a fun alternative! Each pop holds a handful of biodegradable confetti and are so easy to use; simply pop the top, hold them high and throw the confetti as the newly-weds pass by. They make for a wow factor confetti shot and are a lovely feature when placed together in our Confetti Pop Box.

These fantastic little pops can be reused again and again, or recycle them once you've finished with them.

How Much Confetti Do I Need?

We've got a really handy confetti calculator that will let you know how much you need for your big day! Simply input how many wedding guests you have coming and follow the recommendation. After many years of throwing confetti, we find 1 litre of confetti is around 10-12 handfuls, or up to 20 handfuls for children.

Just remember, you know your guests more than anyone, so if you think everyone is going to throw confetti, make sure to get enough for everyone (or a little more if you fancy having a few confetti throws!) alternatively if you think around half your guests might throw you can always go for a smaller amount.

Order Confetti Now for Your 2022 Wedding

All our petals are dried so they last much longer than fresh petals. In fact our delphiniums can last for years! That said, when it comes to ordering your wedding confetti, we have an easy rule to follow:

  • If your wedding is less than 3 months away, you can order now for immediate delivery and when your petals arrive just keep them stored away from heat, moisture and direct light.
  • If your wedding is over 3 months away, order as early as you like with our free Delayed Delivery service. You add everything to your basket as normal, we ask you your wedding date and dispatch everything closer to your wedding day. Super simple!

We love to see how you use our confetti so don't forget to tag us on social media or send your images via email.
