Come with us on a journey from 1948 to the present day

Lynn South Farm dates back to 1948 with John and his wife Daisy farming potatoes, sugar beet, cereals and a dairy herd. But a keen gardener, Daisy had a passion for flowers and asked John for some land.

Daisy (Nanny Bubb) started selling dried flowers at the Women' Institute stand in Newport.

1990

Daisy's son Michael builds up the dried flower business with his wife Rose. The business grew to a peak of 150 acres of flower production.

1999

Towards the end of the 90's the popularity of dried flowers declines, followed by a collapse in the fashion for dried flowers.

After years of keeping petals on the stems, the Bubb's were beginning to explore whether they could let the petals fall off to create a natural petal confetti. Harvesting now for petal confetti rather than dried flowers.

Shropshire Petals is born! The first recorded order for petals; from a flower shop 4 litres of petals: 1 lilac, 1 pink, 2 mixed colours. Elements of the dried flowers still flourish with our wheat sheaves embracing the English Country Garden.

Shropshire Petals first wedding Show! SP have a stand at the National wedding Show at Birmingham NEC. Today we go all over from London to Scotland and even a hop over to Belfast!

Michael & Rose's son Jim takes over the running of the flower business.

SP provides confetti for school children to throw in front of the Queen at the Diamond Jubilee pageant at Cosford. SP also provides a wheat sheaf for the Royal Hamper presented to the Queen on behalf of the pageant.

Shropshire Petals provides wheat to Jane Packer to create all of the Olympic and Paralympic bouquets, 4800+ bouquets!

Country Homes & Interiors interview Rose about the Bubb family and their diversified petal business. Jim & Jess filmed for Off the Beaten Track; a 6 part series presented by Christine Bleakley aired on ITV in December 2013.

SP harvest over 2 ton of confetti. Our biggest harvest, we grew over 45,000 flowers, all individually handpicked for petal confetti, that's over 130 million petals all by hand.

SP turns 10! Celebrating our 10th year.

SP fun fact: With 32 colours, there are 169,911 combinations available when deciding on our natural petal confetti with the Pick & Mix tool!

We grew a giant bee made of cornflowers on the flower field to promote bees and all the sustainable work we've been up to at SP! Our bee called 'Freddie-Mercu-Bee' even featured on the BBC and ITV.
