Follow The Bride #6
Last time we caught up with Katie, the bride and groom-to-be had been busy sorting out invites, creating their gift lists and getting inspired by Pinterest. We caught up with our bride to see what they've been up to .....
Last time we spoke your friend had designed some gorgeous invites for you, are these all ordered?
Yes they’re ordered and off to the printers
so just waiting for their imminent arrival. In the meantime I’m putting all of
the postal addresses into a spreadsheet to print the addresses onto sticky
labels as my writing might be a bit scruffy after 150 envelopes! However it also means that I can get all the
invites out much quicker as the addresses are then already done.
I did halt the printers due to a new fab
find… Brides to be take note!
So I’m not the most tech savvy
Bride to Be but The Wedding Community has been a blessing, they have so many
REALLY USEFUL wedding planning tools…
The Wedding Community
It took like 5 minutes to set up our own
wedding website and means that everyone can RSVP online simply by typing in the
web address on the invite. It’s super
easy and it automatically keeps track of everyone who has or hasn’t replied and
any special dietary requirements/ vegetarians. It also cuts the cost of having RSVP cards/ additional information cards
as all of this can go on the website. You
can then drag and drop the list to sort out the tables with their table planner,
so simple.

Speaking
of tables, last time we spoke you were going to catch up with the venue. How was the menu tasting? Is it a secret or
can you let us know what you’ve chosen?
Well menu tasting was great, we’ve been
strictly saving for the wedding recently so it was nice to go out for a
treat. We took my Mum & Dad and
Graham’s Mum & Dad so it was really nice for us all to get together. With 3 months to go it made everything start
to seem real so was quite exciting. Obviously I’m not going to spoil it by
telling you the menu but think family favourite’s, good hearty winter warming
food… we certainly all polished our plates off!
Menu tasting - yum!
Though I did feel like I needed a bit of a
snooze afterwards; we’re ensuring the food gets served promptly so lots of time
to let food settle before the dancing commences. With an amazing band lined up there will
certainly be a lot of dancing!
You
talked last time about looking at centre pieces and the room layout, the
finishing touches…
Yes, it’s all in the details! I’ve become a big fan of Pinterest in the last
few weeks, check out my winter wedding Pinterest board.

Graham and I went off in the January sales
to buy heaps of baubles for wedding decoration and it seems that over the past
few months we’ve collected up so many lights and decorations that I’m fairly
certain I could turn my Mum and Dad’s house into a Christmas shop, it’s like a
full on winter wonderland!
With making my dress and the Bridesmaid
dresses there’s not too much that has been bought. So we’ve focused more on the details which we
think often get missed. For us it wasn’t
so much about the venue, more what we could do with the space so we’ve got lots
of fab finds that really pull the whole day together, but more about this next
time…!
Love as always, SP x x
