The Perfect Rustic Garden Wedding

Relaxed outdoor weddings are a trend that could be here to stay, especially with the new wedding law proposed by the Law Commission to the government which could allow couples to get married in a wider variety of locations, such as a forest, local beach, park or even in their own garden. This could come in to play as early as 2023.

We absolutely love the idea of getting married in the middle of nature, in peace and seclusion. Whether it's a wedding venue with exquisite grounds or you decide to get married in your garden at home with the right colour palette, lighting and suppliers you can easily enhance what is already available to create an intimate wedding with your nearest and dearest.

Last year we were kindly asked by Katharina Kaup, Wedding planner at Champagner Laune Events to be involved in a wonderful garden party photoshoot. This shoot highlights the fact that couples do not need to go overboard with décor (or budget) as the natural splendour of the surroundings truly shine when getting married outdoors.

The Concept

''To provide inspiration on how a perfect wedding can also take place in your own garden. Vintage and boho are still very popular, which is why rustic accessories and decoration must be found at garden weddings in particular. Discreetly staged, your own garden can be transformed into a dream location. Lots of lights, candles and sustainable aspects such as a mixture of seasonal potted plants and cut flowers.'' – D Fisher Weddings

A Stylish Countryside Setting

Weidenseehof is a wonderful location in Schaafheim, Germany that offers a dreamlike and spacious garden with endless possibilities when it comes to events and celebrations. Set away from the hustle and bustle of city life it is the ideal location for couples wanting an outdoor wedding with a stylish atmosphere for 100 guests, or more.

Flowers and Décor

''The unbroken boho trend is picked up here and combined with fine art elements to create a relaxed but elegant atmosphere'' – Champagnerlaune Events

The marquee lined with lights took center stage, the trestle tables were adorned with rustic glass bottles filled with greenery such as eucalyptus, large tapered white candles, delicate gold flatware and crystal glassware with a fine gold rim. The place settings consisted of fine art name cards with a soft rust bow, sage green napkins knotted and stunning menus printed on rich cream paper. The sprig of rosemary placed on top of the menu added to that relaxed feel as if it had just been plucked from the garden.

The natural flowers also flowed overhead the tables with eucalyptus and gypsophila intertwined between festoon lights (you can only image the delightful smells lingering  throughout the marquee)

Old wine crates sat at the entrance of the marquee, showcasing small gifts of potted herbs and exquisite meringue style cakes and pastries. The botanical colours and natural rustic textures inside the marquee set the ultimate relaxed vibe.

The ceremony setting was idyllic, small rosemary trees lined the aisle wrapped in kraft paper and string. The backdrop featured a simplistic black hoop adorned in botanical flowers, pretty black lanterns containing pillar candles and gypsophilia. Live music filled the air before and after the vows.

Chic Wedding Dress

An elegant boho twist, combining lace with a modern sculptured bodice and a whimsical chiffon skirt, which floated down the garden aisle in style.

The groom was dressed to suit the venue, the muted toned outfit featured no tie or jacket, complimenting the dress and relaxed boho theme perfectly.

An outdoor wedding allows for you to be more playful when it comes to bridal outfits with some mirroring the natural beauty of the surroundings by incorporating foliage and floral in their dress. Unlike a traditional type of affair which encourages timeless and modern designs (which we are also a big fan of!). It's just the case of aligning your wedding story and styling your dress to suit the type of day you're planning.

Rustic Wedding Cake

Rustic but elegant the naked cake featured gold speckles throughout, decorated with an array of natural flowers and colours. It took center stage in the lounge area of the marquee positioned on a wood slice.

Naked cakes are the perfect option for those of you who don't have a big sweet tooth as there is less icing, also pricing is another plus as there is less time spent having to ice the cake to a smooth finish.

Romantic Confetti Moment

To compliment this beautiful colour palette, we provided our stunning and extremely popular Enchanted Woods Mix which is a mixture of soft creams and sage green. It combines Icing Sugar and Envy petals which are natural, dye-free delphiniums and hydrangeas. 100% natural, biodegradable and sustainable our confetti ais the preferred choice for venues as it means it won't harm the environment and no one had to clean up after the big day.

Displayed in a white Shropshire Box with rustic kraft cones mean't guests could help themselves to throw the confetti over the newlyweds. The evening lighting, stunning trees and sparkling fairy lights were the ideal backdrop for the romantic confetti moment which is an absolute most for the wedding album.
