Follow the Bride #2 - Rose

With just under a month to go Rose has been super busy planning her wedding day, lets hear what she has been up to!

So Rose, How's the wedding planning going?

Theme/colour scheme

The wedding reception is going to be take place in my parent's garden so we are definitely going with an English country garden theme. Rather than a traditional wedding breakfast, all the guests will be having a picnic on the lawn with baskets and a rug - let's hope the sun is shining! This has also influenced our decisions, I'm hoping everything will have a very relaxed feel and we even have some picnic canapés and Pimms.

Invites

Ashley and Megan, our marketing experts, have been busy helping me with all the invitations. Megan has done some beautiful drawings of a few landmarks in the village and Ashley has put it all together to create a map of the village. I couldn't be happier with them! We sent them out as early as we could as we didn't do Save the Dates and have them all back now to finalise the numbers in the last few weeks.

Bridesmaid Dresses

I found it really hard choosing the bridesmaids dresses, I really feel like they decide your colours and make a statement to the guests about the theme of the day. As all my bridesmaids are very different it was hard to find one that suited everyone. When I finally did find a dress one of the bridesmaids was travelling in Asia, thankfully it suited her when she came back!!

Wedding Dress

I had no idea that you had to choose a wedding dress 6 months in advance! With only a 5 month engagement this was one of the first things I did. Thankfully it turned out it wasn't a problem at all. I found the dress at a lovely shop in Cambridge.

How was picking your wedding dress? Any clues?

I had quite a clear idea in mind about what I thought I wanted but after trying lots of dresses on I realised that that had to go out of the window! The hardest part was that they were all so beautiful! I thought I would either love or hate them but that really wasn't the case, after a while it was a relief to find ones that didn't suit me to help narrow it down! I would definitely say that you have to keep an open mind, the shop assistant picked out the dress I eventually went with and it was exactly what I wanted! Though you are getting no clues!

Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to about the big day?

I cannot wait to have all my family together, Kit keeps having to remind me it's about us getting married and not me having a big party with my cousins! I absolutely love a wedding, I just don't think it has quite sunk in that it is our wedding - I think that will only hit me as I am walking down the aisle.

Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples out there?

As easy as it is to say I think the most important thing is not to get stressed about everything. You only need the major details, while the details do make a wedding you don't need every single detail - the guests really won't know. Just enjoy the planning and don't try and please everyone else.

Do you have any confetti ideas yet?

The confetti is one thing I really haven't been sure about, we make up so many beautiful pick and mixes every day that it's a lot to live up to! I think I have just about decided on the mix but I still need to work out what to have it in!! I might just leave it up to the rest of the team!

Hopefully we will be able yo catch up with Rose one more time before the big day, but if not we wish Rose & Kit an amazing wedding day!

I'm sure we will do a catch up blog with lots of photos to share!
