2021 Weddings: What is Trending
Dates, venues and destinations may have had to
change, but we are loving how brides and grooms have powered on through and really
thought about their adjustments to make the most memorable day for all
involved. Here are some of the trends that we are seeing and think are just fabulous.
Supporting British
As we all know the UK economy has been hit hard over the last year,
which is why we are delighted to see that lots more brides and grooms are supporting
and working with suppliers on their doorstep. From local photographers, caters,
independent shops on Esty (to purchase their wedding decorations and stationery items),
to even making sure they use British grown biodegradable confetti on their big
day.
It would seem
that sustainability and an eco-concious outlook is becoming even more prevalent
too when planning. With more couples opting for
locally grown food, flowers and serving
local wines and beers at their wedding breakfast, meaning less air miles, and
less of a carbon footprint on the environment.
Long may it last!
Light-hearted Humour
We wonder how many times the phrase
"If you don't laugh, you will cry" has been used? Especially for those couples
who have rescheduled more times than they can remember at this point. We love the fact that light-hearted humour has
been brought into play and in a sense helped people cope with their world being turned upside down.
Going from 'Save the Date' to 'Let's try this
again' cards, to incorporating the coronavirus toilet roll jokes into the postponed date announcements, there are so many funny
cards on Esty being used by couples to update their friends and family on their big day. We are even seeing this humour being added
to our personalised confetti cones, with text such as "Sarah & Sean At Last" being added to the design.
The SP team are almost certain there has been
many a conversation between couples about changing their first dance song to
"At Last" by Etta James! It would defiantly give the guests a little chuckle.

Our custom cones are completely bespoke for you and made to order so you
can match them to your wedding colours and theme. Wow your guests with your
unique cones (and humour), they may even keep them as mementos.
Ready - To - Wear Dresses
It certainly wasn't easy
for brides to go dress shopping during lockdown. We feel that this has made a lot of brides rethink and become more budget savvy in the search for a dress that's why we are seeing brides wearing more ready-to-wear options from shops such as Whistles, Coast and Needle & Thread. The lower price tag certainly doesn't mean it is not worthy for your
big day, it does mean the cash saved can
now go into that dream kitchen or a deposit for your new home.
We even seen Carrie Symonds taking it one
step further when she married Borris Johson in May, by renting her wedding
dress from a company called My Wardrobe HQ for £45, had she of purchased the dress it would have cost £2,870. Like everyone else we jumped to the
conclusion that she had to cut costs due to spending ten of thousands on their flat decor, however, it turns out the founder of My Wardrobe HQ has
confirmed Carrie is a reqular customer of theirs.
With a large amount of
clothing being sent to landfill each year in the UK we have to applaud Carrie
for taking part in fashion in a relativity guilt free way.

Dried Flowers
A fast-growing wedding trend,
we are seeing dried flowers being
incorporated into many wedding themes due to the variety and colours now available.
There is little that you can't do with them.
We are delighted to have so many
lovely brides recently share with us how they have used our dried flowers throughout their wedding day. Our flowers are grown
on our Shropshire farm during the summer months and handpicked to ensure only
the best quality is selected. All our flowers are dried on our farm and
dispatched directly from our Petal Shed.
We offer a huge
range of blooms so you can make your
own bespoke displays or choose from our made to order Buttonholes, Posies, Mini Bouquets, Wheat Sheafs, Dried Flower Wreaths and Heart Wreaths for your big day.
What we love is not only do you save money and reduce waste by opting for dried
flower arrangements, they are also reusable. After the big event why not divide up the flowers and give them to your guests to use as home decor or a have wreath made from your wedding
bouquet for a keepsake.
Thoughtful Table Decor
With families and friends being separated for almost 12 months, it has been such a joy for everyone to sit together again and of course to celebrate loved ones. It's also a time to reflect on how lucky everyone is to be safe and have their health so that why couples have made this time sitting together extra special. From personalised embroidered napkins that guests can
take home, Thank You notes placed on plates telling families how much they mean
to them, even some couples baking biscuits favours with positive messages – guests
have never felt more appreciated and loved.
It fills us with so much joy to see how you use our confetti and dried flowers throughout your big day! Make sure to share your beautiful images with us, whether that be through our social channels or email.
Love SP xx
