We've got a newbie in the petal shed
Hello lovely brides to be! I'm Ashley and I've taken over the Shropshire Petals blog today as I'm the newbie in the petal shed.
It's my second day working on the farm and so far I've already sent out 96 confetti samples to couples getting ready to tie the knot. I've been introduced to the office dogs, Scout, Bramble and Maris. Bramble has already singled me out as the soppy push over and begged me for some of my packed lunch, I don't know how but I held strong and I didn't give in to those big brown eyes. I've also had a sneak peek into upcoming products and I've settled into working with the rest of the mad bunch.
Working on the farm is a completely new experience for me as I grew up on the coast, so I've swapped my flipflops for boots and I'm prepared for mud, hard-work and the occasional paw print. On my first day I was taken on the grand tour by Jim (the gaffa), he showed me the field where all our beautiful flowers will grow this next season. I can't wait to wander over when everything starts to flower and take some photos to share with you all. Just think of all the colours! I'll let you into a little secret, I'm a bit of a photography nut, I love photographing anything and everything. Check out the Shropshire Petals Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram social media channels over the coming weeks for some of my pics.
One thing I wasn't expecting when I arrived, was the lovely smell in the petal shed. No-one ever seems to tell you about it, but it hits you when you go in and it's just divine. I'm so excited to learn all the colour combinations of confetti, the quirky names they're given and most importantly how you will be using them for your weddings.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing what's going on in the shed.
Lots of love, Ashley and the SP bunch
