The Sun Shines on Shropshire with a visit from the Queen!
Excuse my jolly alliteration but it isn't every day you get a visit from Royalty!
Yes The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh flew into Cosford for Shropshire's Diamond Jubilee Pageant, and of course Shropshire Petals were there with confetti in hand... 120 hands to be exact as we provided confetti for the procession- thrown right in front of her majesty the Queen!
As part of the Chamber of Agriculture - the last remaining chamber in the country, we were invited to display our Shropshire Petals Confetti alongside other Shropshire producers including Appleby's Cheese, Wroxeter Roman Vineyard, Oaklands Fresh Eggs and Chilton Aberdeen Angus. with all the wine and cheese on the stand it was definately the stand everyone wanted to be on!
Rose really enjoyed chatting with everyone who attended the pageant, with almost 40,000 people attending including over 5,000 school children it was both an educational and enjoyable day. Not only diplaying on the Chamber of Agriculture stand Shropshire Petals also provided the petals for the end displays alongside David Austin Roses. With an explosion of petals we filled the diamonds with confetti which everyone seemed to love to play with!
In particular there were a couple of young girls who loved our confetti, we gave them a couple of handfuls each and they had so much fun, I just had to take a picture as the confetti matched their British flag dresses- a stunning shot!
Jim seemed to be pretty pleased with the stand and thought the day was a great success, especially since he got to hold the banner for the Chamber of Agriculture- walking in the procession directly in front of the Queen... but more of this to come in Part 2 where our confetti takes the limelight!
Love as always SP x x
