The Flower of April: The Daisy

April is now in full swing and as the April baby in the SP office (Hi, it's Emma!) I’m taking over today’s blog to talk about how much I love the cheerful colours of the birth flower of April; the daisy!

Here at Shropshire Petals we are big fans of daisies, did you know it was Daisy Bubb who started the dried flower business way back in 1985 selling dried flowers at the WI markets? That’s why our SP logo embraces the delightful Daisy.

To me, daisies are a wonderful representation of childhood memories making daisy chains in the sunshine with my sisters and friends; a memory definitely worth recreating with your bridal party during your confetti moment!  And as you can see below, although we don’t grow them for confetti, there are plenty of them in beautiful full bloom here on the farm. 

Daisies are the perfect addition to any wedding; making beautiful corsages or additions to flower arrangements. As the daisy family is said to make up 10% of all flowering plants on the entire planet, they’re certainly not in short supply!
