Flower of the Month: Larkspur

July's flower of the month is Larkspur! Here at Shropshire Petals, we love Larkspur, we love it so much we grow Larkspur on our farm and add it to natural confetti for the perfect petal combination. Here's some of our Larkspur in the field growing!

Larkspur is the common name for Delphinium flowers and is grown in the Northern Hemisphere and even on the high mountains of tropical Africa! The name delphinium derives from the Latin for 'Dolphin' referring to the shape of the nectary.

To make sure we have lots of varied colour petals to offer our couples we grow lots of different colours of Larkspur on our Shropshire farm including:

Larkspur is perfect for throwing confetti as the petals are bright in colour and gently float to the floor when thrown, giving your photographer plenty of time to capture your perfect confetti moment.
