10 Years of Shropshire Petals

In November 2005, we received our first order for natural petal confetti from a flower shop who chose 4 litres of petals: 1 lilac, 1 pink, 2 mixed colours. Today, these colours would be 'Amethyst', 'Candy floss' and 'Kaleidoscope'.

The first order! 

20 years before Shropshire Petals was created, fields of colourful flowers were grown at Lynn South Farm by Nanny Bubb who used to sell dried flowers at the WI in Newport.

The flowers were all hand picked and dried right here on the farm.

Harvesting flowers in the 1980's 

After the decline in dried flowers, Lynn South Farm became home to Shropshire Petals and instead of being used for dried flower bunches, the colourful flowers were used to create natural petal confetti.

35 years have passed since we were growing and drying flowers for the WI at Lynn South Farm but because of the delicate nature of the larkspur flowers, the harvesting methods are still very similar.....

The flowers are all hand picked and de-petalled on the farm - only the best petals make the cut so you can be sure that you'll be showered with perfect petals on your wedding day!
